Augmented Reality (AR) Interactive APP

Client: Personal Project - Master's Course Work

Date: 2019

Project Type: Interactive AR Mobile APP

As part of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Digital Media Design at the University of Edinburgh, we developed a mobile application to virtually resist the privatization of public spaces. The aim was to use Marker-Based Augmented Reality (AR) technology powered by Vuforia to hack publicly displayed ‘public-private’ advertisement banners and commercialized billboards, and provide various methods of user interaction. These methods symbolize the democratization of such spaces through freely expressed messages, comments, reviews and reactions. Additionally, we designed a social experiment to create a virtual interactive experience.

The project utilized Marker-Based Augmented Reality (AR) technology, which was powered by Vuforia, to create an immersive experience for users. The mobile application was built using Unity.
